What is a Printer?

A printer is a computer peripheral that outputs graphics and text onto paper.

CEDP's preferred suppliers for printers are Konica Minolta and Fuji Xerox . Trainee day to day tasks will include providing technical assistance and performing maintenance tasks to ensure full availability and functionality of printers.

Most printers utilised in schools are connected to the network, and therefore require specific configuration in order to function correctly.

For installation of a new printer, please complete the following request in ServiceNow. Please note, this will also have the device's IP reserved.

General Use

Due to the wide range of printer makes and models it is recommended that the trainee consult the manufacturer's documentation for information on general use. Where this is not helpful, please contact the Enterprise Service Desk for an incident to be raised.

What if it doesn't work?

The range of issues that may occur with a printer is enormous and it would be impossible to cover them all. There are however a few simple steps that trainees can take to assist with troubleshooting:
