What is WorkFlows

SirsiDynix Symphony Workflows is a proven, robust ILS for the next generation in library technology. It has all the robust functionality and customisation capabilities, giving you the tools you need to run a modern library of any type or size. This software can be installed on both Windows and macOS devices.

The current version of Workflows that we are running is v4.0.0.0

IMPORTANT FOR 4.0.0.0 UPGRADE

Once ICT Staff have completed the upgrade of WorkFlows from Version 3.7.0.0 to Version 4.0.0.0 on all computers onsite, please fill out the following form in order for CSPD to track and monitor this upgrade across the Diocese.

Symphony Web

The client version of WorkFlows installed on library computers is only accessible from within the school IP range and can’t be accessed from home or outside the CSPD network.

CSPD has purchased additional licenses for Symphony Web, a web based version of the existing library WorkFlows client. This interface can be accessed via clicking on the hyperlink above and authenticating with your existing user credentials for accessing Symphony Workflows.

This can be used as an alternative interface to the library database if access to the client version is not available.

E-Library

CSPD eLibraries are access points to all school resources:

              • Library Catalogue

              • CSPD Databases

              • CSPD eBooks


  • They are public websites which can be access from school and home.


  • School specific URL can be saved as a favourite to student browsers


  • Classm8 page has an eLibrary button which allows authentication via SSO


  • Individual school specific URL’s can be found here


  • All school eLibrary share the same root URL

https://ceop.ent.sirsidynix.net.au/client/en_GB/ then build URL by adding AGE ID

Troubleshooting

Printing

Problem - Message received when properties in report sessions need updating


Solution -

PC - Click on Reports / Report Session – Default page will display

Setting changes need to be made in

  1. Application to view reports

  2. Application to print reports

Click on gizmo at end of file path, you will need to select updated file path that maps path to word package on individual computers.

Example of the file path that is on my desktop is

C:\Program Files (x86) \Microsoft Office\root\Office 16\WINWORD.EXE

The same file path needs to be repeated in both ‘Application to view reports ‘ and ‘Application to print reports’.

Once the correct file path is selected, click OK at the bottom of the screen.

To keep session settings when the Workflows is next opened, close down Symphony Workflows, you will be promoted with the message ‘Property settings have changed, do you want to save’ click ‘Yes’ to save these settings.


Fonts

Problem - Font in Workflows is very small


Solution - Increase font size in Workflows

Font settings can be found in Preference / Desktop / Font Settings



Creating Barcodes

Problem - Creating Student and Staff barcodes for library database compatibility



Solution - Student and staff barcodes can be created via the CSPD Data Hub

Instructions for creating barcodes can be found here


Barcode reports produced contain lists of student barcodes by homerooms for schools to print off. Note: you can only access reports for your school, other school data is not available.
